iPhone for game download, Android used for constructive work: Nielsen

Reviewing this year’s performance of the Google and Android it becomes pretty easy to draw conclusions about the performance of the two in the market. To put first things first, we come to know that Google and Apple’s shares have grown 2% since the last quarter of the previous year. This growth is possibly at the cost of RIMM’s Blackberry and Microsoft’s windows mobile while have each lost around a 2% themselves.

The other result that is sure to catch an eye is the one which says that richer and better educated people tend to like the iPhones more than the Android. Also, 55% of Android users are within the age of 34 while only 47% of iPhone users fall in that range.

If asked will you change from your current OS to the other OS only 7% of iPhone users wanted to change from iPhones to Android and 14% of Android users wanted to change from Android to iPhone. If we compare the other big players on the same grounds we see that, while 47% of Blackberry users want another Blackberry, only 34% of Windows Mobile users want another Windows Mobile device.

Finally, the comparison of the usage profiles, the usage profiles of both Android and iPhones are more or less similar to each other, with just one difference; it is more likely that an iPhone user will downloaded a game or will play a game online but the Android user on the other hand brings his phone in more constructive work like data transfer, downloading ringtones, wallpapers and pictures and uploads.

After getting a brief review of the Nielsen company reports one can now decide on the OS that he wants in his smartphone better, so the BALL NOW RESTS IN YOUR COURT  !!

Nielsen is a company that holds privately managed global information like media information, TV ratings, online Intelligence and mobile measurement for other bigger companies which for some reason do not find it convenient enough to do it themselves. Every quarter, the company releases this privately held data and this gives the journalists a chance to review the same and draw conclusions about the company’s performance for the past year.
