Vodafone, the operator for your telecommunication services was doing good enough that it soon announced the world’s cheapest mobile phones in the MWC 2010. Sometimes your service provider and sometimes as a sponsor to various organizations is all set to be at large with its recent news of the cheapest phones on the face of earth. We just saw the same by the Nokia too but way back and now it’s the time for the Vodafone.

Well it is not any Blackberry or Windows Phone but sweet little handset enough to keep you connected. The names of the phones are Vodafone 150 and Vodafone 250. This extraordinary revelation was made in the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona that the phone Vodafone 150 will be available for $15 (Rs 695 approx).

The handset has a mini USB connector, mobile payment facility, you can even convert the currency, a torch to put light on things because you never know you can go blind anytime. Well jokes apart and coming back to the Vodafone 150. It has an alarm clock to wake you up and 2 pre installed games with enough memory to store 100 phonebook entries including messages. Vodafone 150 has a 5mAh battery providing you 5 hours of talk time and a stand by time of 400 hours.

Countries who would enjoy this phone would be India, Turkey and eight African countries including, Kenya, Lesotho and Ghana. It will soon be available in India and has potential to capture a bit of the Indian market.

Now comes the Vodafone 250 which is like elder brother of Vodafone 150 which has coloured screen with 1.45 inch CSTN display panel (128 x 128 pixels) and even the FM radio thus making it a bit lively and interesting phone to use. To make your home screen look good, you can even put some wallpaper and to buzz you with the calls is the polyphonic tunes. Vodafone 250 will be available for $20 (Rs 920 appprox).

Theses phones by Vodafone hold a great prospect in the Indian Mobile phone market and can be great hit in the lower class population persisting in India. Watch out because Vodafone is out with its low price models also the worlds cheapest phones.
