Videocon ventures into Android phones with ZEUS at price Rs.12, 900
Its Android everywhere, the open source operating system from Google that powers mobile phones and other wireless devices seems to have taken the market by storm. More and more players are joining the Android bandwagon and foraying into the Indian mobile market by offering Android powered phones to make it big.
It is the turn of Videocon, this time to offer a mobile handset powered by Android v 2.1, at the most competitive price tag. The new Zeus by Videocon is offered at a price tag of Rs. 12,900 to Indian customers.
Indian mobile market is dynamic and price sensitive and based on this, Videocon launched Zeus with features such as a huge 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen, 5 MP camera with LED flash, push mail and connectivity features such as 3.5G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Being an Android device the handset offers seamless integration with the internet and offers intuitive access to over 70,000 apps from Android Market which opens up a whole new dimension of the internet for its users, says Videocon.
The Zeus is a sleek device with 480 x 320 pixel screen coming with an internal memory of 512MB which can be further expanded to up to 32GB. The phone runs on 600 MHz of Qualcomm microprocessor and has accelerometer and customizable 5 screens. The handset also supports multiple Bluetooth profiles including A2DP, GAP, HFP and HSP.
Videocon Zeus comes with 1230mAh battery that offers a talk time of 7 hours and a standby time of 17 days. The handset supports video playback with multiple file formats and comes with many short cut keys which is one of its salient features. Zeus also has geo tagging and A-GPS.
