Videocon GSM services for a slice of lucrative Indian Mobile Service market
Videocon Group has announced that it will extensively launch its brand new GSM service in India over the next three years. The estimated outlaw of this GSM project is Rs 14,000 Crore. Videocon Telecommunications Ltd. the subsidiary of Videocon Group, has revealed that it aims a very speedy growth and hopes to make its strong presence in 100 main cities of India in a time frame of 100 days since launch.
Venugopal Dhoot, the Chairman of Videocon Group, while launching its GSM mobile services in Chennai on Thursday told reporters that this launch is part of the company’s new roll out strategy . In the similar manner, Videocon Telecommunication will roll out its GSM mobile services in other important Indian cities of Haryana, Kerala, Punjab, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai and Maharashtra by the end of September this year.
Mr Dhoot also said, “ We in India, in the next three years to become the top 3 service providers and the whole, our plan of investment of Rs 14,000 crore in this business in the next three years.”
According to reports Videocon mobile services would be associated with the coveted and futuristic 2.75G EDGE GSM network. On this issue the Chairman of Videocon group said that Videocon mobile services will revolutionized the Indian mobile service market with its technological advancement great value added offers efficient tariff, plans which will focus on all economic classes of India so that the masses get benefit.
The Chairman Mr Dhoot, also revealed that Videocon Telecommunication has plans to form strategic partnerships with leaders of international telecom industry which will enable the Indian company to formulate new and future oriented telecommunication infrastructure. The major international leaders of telecommunication that Videocon telecom will associate with are Nokia Siemens Networks, IBM, Comverse, Cisco, Amdocs, Gemalto, Avaya, Wipro and Oracle.
Although a new player in the market yet Videocon Telecommunication will try to capture the imagination of Indian mobile service users by offering its subscribers a variety of high ended voice, data & SMS services and the customers will get true value for their money. Also the customer care services of Videocon mobile service will be offered in 15 main Indian languages and there will be 8 call centres spread across the country for the purpose.
On the launch of Videocon GSM in Chennai, Aravind Santhanam, Chief Operating Officer, Tamil Nadu circle of Videocon told the media that his company has plans to spend around Rs. 15,00 Crore in Tamil Nadu for its GSM mobile services which will in turn create 20,00 new jobs in the state.
