Sony PlayStation Phone expected to be in markets in 2011

The much waited Sony PlayStation phone is expected to be in the markets by next year. The PlayStation phone is going to incorporate elements from the current Sony Ericsson mobile phones and from the current, and maybe even the next PlayStation Portable handheld consoles. At last we all know that the rumor we heard that Sony is not actually bringing out any PlayStation phone is not true.

The PlayStation phone is supposed to be running on Android 3.0 platform and will probably be powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor. The Snapdragon MSM8655 chipset is powerful enough to support 3.8-inch display and the Adreno 205 GPU promises better graphics. Therefore it can be well expected that this phone would be capable of 720p HD recording as well.

The phone features includes a 512 MB of RAM and 1 GB of ROM. The touchpad is a very neat concept to go along and it can be hoped that the touchpad will replace the joystick. However the device looks almost similar to much of the Xperia series of smartphones and it is actually more so when it is closed.

The Playstation phone is equipped with a capacitive touchscreen which might be in the range of 3.7 to 4.1 inches and a long touchpad with buttons provided that are most similar tot hose found on the PSP console. It can well be guessed that he phone has the feature of allowing the users to download some games. Games such as God of War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare can be easily downloaded. But there are reports of Sony Ericsson preparing to add more reality features to cater to the entertainment factor.

The camera of the phone is provided on the back but there are no specifications provided as regards the megapixel count of it. However, it does have an LED flash. The picture of this phone which was leaked somehow in the internet provides such details. There may be some other additional features too and those can only be reported in detail when the phone is actually launched in the real market.
