Samsung intros Guru 1175- the entry level mobile phone at Rs. 1690 in India

Samsung has joined the race to offer affordable handsets in India targeted at the entry level mobile market in the country. The phone is not only affordable but comes with an array of features that makes it a value for money device especially for those who just use mobile phones for making and receiving calls only. The phone is aggressively priced at Rs. 1690 in India.

Samsung Guru 1175 is the company’s latest edition to its Guru Series. The phone measures 108.7 x 46.1 x 14.1 mm and just weighs 72 grams. The Guru 1175 combines a decent design with an ergonomically key pad that offers a better typing experience. The phone comes with a 1.52 inch vibrant display and 1 MB of user memory.

Samsung Guru 1175 features a battery life of 12 hours of talk time with up to 650 hours of standby. The other specifications of the Guru 1175 is 40 Polyphonic sounds, FM radio with 23 hrs of play time, phone book memory of 1000 numbers with 500 SMS capacity. The phone also features a mobile tracker facility, SOS messages, Fake call, Bike mode, and torch.

The candy bar mobile by Samsung, the Guru 1175 also comes with MP3 ringtones, Indian calendar, voice key notes and a decent kitty of gaming too. The games offered by Guru 1175 include cricket, Sudoku, Super Jewel Quest and Carrom.

Speaking about the features of the new Guru 1175, Ranjit Yadav, Director, Mobile &IT, Samsung India said, “The new, stylish Guru 1174 is a valuable addition to the popular Guru series of Samsung phones in the essential phone segment. The Guru series stand differentiated in the market on account of their longer battery life, bright torch, regional language display and advance mobile tracker.”

The new Guru 1175 supports many feature enhancements from its previous models in the Guru Series namely, Guru 1070, Guru 1100, Guru 1125, Guru 1210, Guru 1310 and Guru 1410. The company also aims to continue with its ‘Next it What’ positioning this year and plans to expand the touch screen and multi media handsets through an enhancement in the product portfolio.
