Samsung brings first tablet, new Galaxy Tab with plans for shipping in Oct.

Samsung brings its first tablet, the new Galaxy Tab and plans to starts shipping it in October. Galaxy Tab is Samsung’s debut into the tablet world that runs on Google’s Android latest version, the Androidv2.2 also called Froyo. Samsung plans to update the Tab with Android’s most advanced version, the Gingerbread very soon. The tablet aims to bring together Samsung’s innovations with added capabilities to offer its users PC-like experience while on the move.

Galaxy Tab by Samsung is powered by Cortex A8 1.0 GHz processor and has the latest Adobe Flash Player 10.1. The tablet promises to deliver a thrilling experience for its customers for viewing images, watching films, sharing documents and e-reading on its perfectly sized 7-inch AMOLED display. The Galaxy Tab is the world’s first DivX certified tablet.

With the launch of Galaxy Tab, Samsung aims to take users’ mobile experience to an entirely new level with Bluetooth 3.0, 3G HSPA connectivity and 802.11n Wi-Fi. The tablet offers great voice telephony with  speakerphone on the table and mobile handset on the go by way of its Bluetooth headset. The device also supports large number of HD video content in a range of multimedia formats like H.263, H.264, MPEG4, DivX, XviD and many more.

Samsung Galaxy Tab offers face to face video telephony over 3G through its 1.3 MP camera front facing camera. Users can take amazing still images with its 3MP camera at the rear. They can take videos and edit, upload and share images without hassle. The tablet comes integrated with 16G memory that can be further expanded by up to 32 GB via microSD card. Tab is also compatible with a large number of apps available on the Android Market as the device is based on Android platform.

Wireless carrier Verizon announced that it will bring Samsung Galaxy Tab from October 11 in the US. Nothing has been officially confirmed regarding the pricing of the Tab but the tablet is anticipated to come at a price tag of $895 for 16GB version and for $1,025 for 32GB version. If you are buying it through Verizon then the tablet is very likely to come with a heavy subsidy together with a service contract.
