Samsung Acclaim mobile launched with multimedia and social network features

Samsung unveils its latest Android 2.1 powered smartphone, the Samsung Acclaim SCH-r880 handset in the US. The phone targets the multimedia very well and offers an array of the feature set to deliver an amazing multimedia experience. In partnership with U.S Cellular, Samsung aims to launch the Acclaim SCH-r880 as a perfect device for multitasking and stay connected with your social network of friends and family. The handset starts its sale on July 9th, 2010.

The features of Samsung Acclaim SCH-r880 include a 3.2 inch touch screen display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution and a full slide out QWERTY keypad. As mentioned earlier the handset is powered by Android 2.1 therefore includes Google mobile services that are expected from any other Android device such as, Gmail, Google Talk, Maps and more. The Acclaim comes with a 3.0 MP camera with LED flash and an array of connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth together with Microsoft Exchange Functionality.

The Acclaim SCH-r880 by Samsung also supports VPN and personalized features. A 4GB microSD card which is expandable by up to 32GB comes with the Acclaim. The phone offers support for corporate and personal emails together with an easy access to many social networking sites that keeps you stay in touch with your friends and family. The handset offers a hub for social networking on sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. It also offers pre-loaded apps like My Contacts Backup and Tone Room Deluxe. The Acclaim measures 114mm x 58mm x 15.2mm and weighs 130g.

The official of carrier of Acclaim, U.S Cellular plans to sell the Android handset by Samsung at $99.95 after a mail in rebate.
