In the race of mobile world, Nokia sent N900 to win it’s race. Nokia is ready to give the shock to gizmo freaks through its N900. Now, it is set to inject the same rapture into the Indian market with it formally being launched in India.

Nokia N900 is a powerful mobile phone, much ahead of its time. This is Nokia's first phone which will be holding Linux Maemo operating system in it. However, there are talks going on to update Maemo to Meego. The Nokia N900 mobile is available at price Rs. 30,639 in India.

Nokia N900 handset has been coined as the “internet tablet”. The features this phone are as follows- it has a 3.5 inches TFT resistive touch screen with 65K colors and full QWERTY keyboard. It has a average camera, 5 mega-pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and autofocus with 3X digital zoom, video light, Dual LED flash, 3D graphics accelerator with OpenGL ES 2.0 support.

Nokia N900 mobile features and specs includes Stereo FM radio featuring FM transmitter. The Processor and 3D accelerator are as follows: TI OMAP 3430: ARM Cortex-A8 600 MHz, PowerVR SGX with OpenGL ES 2.0 support. Further, it supports 32 GB storage, 256 MB RAM internal and has a microSD card slot which is expandable upto 48 GB. As far as network connectivity is concerned, it supports both 2G (GSM), 3G (HSDPA) network connectivity and got Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, DLNA. In the meantime, you should be aware of the fact that 3G is not yet launched in India.

Nokia N900 mobile has a rich set of music player and video player which support MP3, WMA, WAV, eAAC+ and WMV, RealVideo, MP4, AVI, XviD files respectively. The SMS (threaded view), Email, Push Email and IM provides an ideal option for messaging. Other features of this phone holds-up Skype and GoogleTalk VoIP (voice over IP) integration.

Nokia N900 phone has  PDF document viewer, Photo editor, Adobe Flash Player 9.4. The browser support is also nice- xHTML, HTML and RSS feeds are available. Apart from all these it consists of Geo-tagging feature also. The handset also consists of micro USB port which enhances its data sharing capability along with the Bluetooth (v2.1 with A2DP) and infrared ports. As Nokia is known for its battery life, N900 supports up to 6 hrs. 30 min talk time approx.

Nokia N900 mini tablet handset pretty much gives the feel of the Nokia N97 in a new and upgraded avatar, only the OS has changed to Maemo. It is a wait and watch situation to be able to tell what kind of response it gets in the Indian markets, which never seem to have enough of Nokia devices.
