Nokia N900 mobile- The first Linux Maemo 5 based smartphone in India !

With all the mobile manufacturers moving towards the technical development of the smartphones, Nokia, the leader in  the industry of mobile manufacturing, has stepped into the field with the launch of the Nokia N900, which is supposedly the first Linux Maemo 5 supported phone launched in India. The specifications and the looks of this smartphone truly make this phone stand out among the rest of the contemporary smartphones.


Nokia N900 has been characterized by some of the unique features, and the combination of reliability and durability of Nokia handsets, of which Nokia is very famous, does make this device a sought-after one. Accompanied by a 3.5 inch touch-sensitive widescreen display, the Nokia N900 handset supports 800 x 480 pixel resolution, processor of ARM Cortex-A8 600 MHz, and PowerVR SGX with OpenGL ES 2.0 support.


With memory support of up to 1GB of application memory, and 32 GB of external storage, the Nokia N900 handset is provided with full QWERTY onscreen as well as tactile keyboard, Bluetooth v2.1 including support for stereo headsets and comes with integrated FM transmitter. Its attributes which require a mention are the operating frequency of Quad-band GSM EDGE 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900, WCDMA 900/ 1700/ 2100 MHz.


Among the multimedia features, the Nokia N900 smartphone does prove quite efficient. It features a 5 mega-pixel camera, with support of JPEG image formats, CMOS sensor, Carl Zeiss optics, Tessar lens, with 3 x digital zoom and operational with dual-LED flash. The camera also supports autofocus feature, accompanied by a two-stage capture key, and assist light.


The browser used on the Nokia N900 phone is the Maemo browser which is powered by the Mozilla technology. It supports Adobe Flash 9.4, and allows the user for full-screen browsing. Video recording has been made better with the support for 848 x 480 pixels WVGA and up to 25 fps with support for mp4 file format and codec of MPEG-4.


With its innovative design and integrated A-GPS, large internal storage, high quality camera, and fast wireless broadband, the Nokia N900 device is surely going to set a record of its own, and shall surely make a good debut in the market.

is it a little bulky? one main good point for a phone is the size. because its a touch screen device they could have included the qwerty pad as a built-in program. anyways, considering the specs this is a good phone.
