Nokia C5 a S60 based Smartphone with a candy bar shape and numeric keypad

It was actually planned that Nokia Inc are going to announce their new series of mobile phone and the question was only about the launching date. Now finally, they have announced the launch of new S60 based Smartphone Nokia C5. This Smartphone is directed towards social networking and content sharing.

This mobile phone allows users to get in touch with their frequently used contacts through Facebook and other social networking sites and also makes status updates and other contents visible in this Smartphone’s contact address book.

This mobile phone is completely Symbian-based and will be shipped to Europe and Asia between the month of April and June, and its cost will be round about 135€ or US$180, excluding taxes and other grants. And there is no news about shipping the same in US till now. This Smartphone is opposite to the ongoing Smartphone trends as this device has a candy bar shape and a numeric keypad.

Nokia Inc today also undertook its new naming pattern for this series as it has been divided into four different groups. In every group there will be numbers from 1-9, lower numbers with lower prices.

The company even said that amongst each series of devices, they are ascertaining a new range of numbers, from 1 to 9, each intending the range of functionality on offer, and the approximate prices of the devices – 1 being the lowest and 9 being the highest”.

This Smartphone functions with Symbian S60 3rd edition, which in other words means that this phone is featured with thousands of applications and will be available in the market in this year’s second quarter. Nokia C5 has an internal memory of 50 MB and also contributes for a host of email and instant messaging services like Ovi Mail, Microsoft Windows Hotmail and Google Mail; and Messengers like Gtalk and Windows Live Messenger, respectively.

This Smartphone user can also avail the web services with the HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access), and can click pictures with a 3.2-megapixel camera, store applications in upto 2 GB micro SD Card and even they will get a support cards that can allow them to store upto 16 GB.

Nokia Inc  has said that their previous series of phone like N-Series  were based on most forward looking range of phones; X-Series comprises with social entertainment; E-Series for Business and Productivity and is mostly used by people from the Corporate Sector.
