The new Wagon R is going to be launched by Maruti Suzuki, the Czar of automobiles in India, today, April 23rd 2010. The new Maruti Wagon R is based on an entirely new platform and is powered by BS-IV complaint K Series engine. The new Wagon R 2010 will be launched in 3 versions namely, LX, LXi and VXi.


The company also ruled out launching any LPG variant and said the only gasoline model will be launched in the new Wagon R 2010. The new Wagon R 2010 is anticipated to be priced at Rs. 3.30 lac in India.


Wagon R will reportedly undergo an investment of Rs. 290 crores to develop the newer version of Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, which is country’s second largest selling car after the Alto. Mayank Prateek, executive officer, Marketing and Sales MSIL said, “The company’s investment of Rs. 290 Crores on the project is over and above the money spent by vendors on upgrading their facilities for the car.”


The new Wagon R 2010 will not sport some minor changes but will undergo a full model change as told to media persons. Maruti Wagon R, the latest version will sport a new look and will come with many additional features. It will be taller, wider, more spacious and much longer with a new front and rear suspension. The new Wagon R 2010 will offer additional features to ensure superior performance and comfort. The new Wagon R is expected to deliver a fuel efficiency of 18.9km/l according to Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).
