LG introduced its latest smartphone at the CES 2011 in Las Vegas recently. New LG Optimus Black smartphone comes powered with Google’s Android v 2.2, also called the Froyo with Android 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade capability. Optimus Black reflects LG’s strength of advanced technology both in display and design, said LG President and CEO Dr. Jong-seok Park.


LG Optimus Black  smartphone is a perfect example of LG’s mettle in offering a smartphone with world’s brightest display screen in world’s slimmest design.


LG Optimus Black boasts of a great viewing experience thanks to the latest technology that amplifies the viewing experience with higher brightness levels and true black and white hues. Optimus Black is also world’s slimmest smartphone at just 9.2 mm and weighs only 109 grams.


The slim and stylish phone by LG Electronics comes with a 4-inch NOVA display that consumes 50% less power indoors. NOVA display is highly useful under direct sunlight conditions unlike the AMOLED display.


LG Optimus Black  features Wi-Fi Direct, a 2 MP front-facing camera that enables users to have a high performance and high quality video telephony. The handset is also equipped with Optimus UI 2.0 that allows users to access messages, emails and missed calls easily from homescreen with a simple tap of finger. The smartphone also comes with a Gesture UI that offers commands such as tapping, shaking and lifting, that come handy to use various apps.


LG Optimus Black will be made available across the globe in the first half of 2011.
