Hyundai Avante for launch in Dec in petrol and diesel version at Rs.11 lac

Hyundai is getting ready to launch the petrol and diesel version of the new sedan, the Hyundai Avante in India in December 2011. The vehicle is a redefined Elantra in its soul and comes to the country at an expected price of Rs. 11 lac.

The car boasts of its contemporary looks and great interior to stay ahead of the market rivals in the same segment that include Chevrolet Optra, Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla. Avante will be launched with a 1. 2 L DOHC petrol engine and a 1.6 L CDRi diesel engine.

The diesel version of the new Hyundai Avante is powered by a 1528cc CRDi engine that is capable of generating maximum power of 115 Bhp @4000 rpm with maximum torque of 260 Nm @ 1900 rpm. The petrol version of the Avante is powered by a 1591 cc DOHC CWT engine that generates maximum power of 118 Bhp @6200 rpm with maximum torque of 156 Nm @4200 rpm. The drive train comes with 6-speed Automatic Transmission gearbox or 5-speed manual transmission.

Avante by Hyundai boasts of a roomy interior that features a spacious cabin, sleek dashboard architecture and the instrumental panel that comes with a soothing blue backlighting. The vehicle has very little wind and road noise intrusion and has digital climate control. The other advanced features at the interior include ambient lighting, heated rear seats and multi information TFT LCD screen. The safety features of the vehicle include twin airbags.

The design of Hyundai Avante has been derived from the Hyundai Sonata YF and the Fluidic Sculpture Design works wonders for the new model the way it did for Verna. The HID Xenon headlamps and LED Tail lamps add to the beauty of the car. Avante was earlier launched at the Busan Auto Show and Hyundai is optimistic that the car will once again redefine the compact segment worldwide. The new Avante encompasses Hyundai latest ambitions, featuring the best styling and performance in its class, says Hyundai.
