Swine flu can now be treated by Homeopathy. In a recent statement by the AYUSH Department, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, Homeopathy can possibly prevent and treat swine flu. Arsenic Album, a homeopathic substance derived from the metallic element arsenic could provide an effective treatment against the H1N1 virus and can also prevent its spread.

Since the onslaught of monsoon in major states of India swine flu is back to take more lives and with the researchers from the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy, the statement may come as a big relief. According to them swine flu and similar influenzas could find a cure in alternative medicine and arsenic album can be explored as a preventive medicine to treat flu-like illnesses that includes swine flu as well.

The meeting which was convened by the AYUSH department was chaired by Dr. Diwan Harish Chand VP of governing body (CCRH). The doctors at the meeting recommended the dosage of arsenic album for the adults and said that they should take 4 pills of Arsenic Album-30 for 3 days on an empty stomach as prophylactic medicine against flu like illness. The doctors recommended a lesser dose of 2 pills in the same manner for the children.

Homeopathy is seen as the safe medicine as it does not contain any side effects. Dr. Rajesh Patel, a homeopathy practitioner said, “As they have no side effects, homeopathic medicines can be administered to people falling under the high risk category, including infants, pregnant women and the elderly.” Homeopathic medicine works by bolstering the immune system of the body rather than directly targeting the causative organism. Arsenic Album is one the most frequently used homeopathic substance that is used widely in most homeopathic remedies.
