Hacked Website Of TCS, An Eye Opener for the Major Software Firms

The hacking of the official sites is on a rise. There is a hacking story again and this time it is not the any government’s site — rather IT major Tata Consultancy Service’s website has been hacked. Though TCS maintains many sites of the government, the hacking of the website of TCS simply points to the immaturity and vulnerability of TCS. This should be an eye-opener for the major Indian software firms.

When the websites are being hacked with messages, it is known as defacing homepages. It seems that TCS is going through some kind of DNS attack. This is because the homepage opens fine with Pagewash.

www.tcs.com, the website of TCS has been attacked and hacked and the hacker has left a message that the website is up for sale. It is with this message that a user who logs on to this site is greeted with. It has been

rumored that the hackers have made changes to the setting of the DNS of the website. The hacker has also put up the whos.among.us widget in order to display the number of people on the site at the given point. This email id has been put by the hacker so that any interested person to buy the domain can contact on this id.

Tata Consultancy service is India’s largest software vendor. The message that has been put up by the hacker for sale is written both in French as well as English. The hacker has got the access to the domain control panel and redirected the site to his own page. The official statement from TCS said that the source of hacking has not been identified and the motive behind it is unknown. Nonetheless this successful hacking attempt shame faces the major Indian IT giant.
