The latest tablet HTC Flyer would be available in India from June 2011. Flyer with 7-inch Touchscreen and a magic pen totally stand out. HTC Flyer and Blackberry Playbook, both the tablets are equipped with stunning features and gorgeous looks.


Playbook and Flyer both have a7-inch wide screen but operate on different OS. Flyer works on Android 2.3.3 OS as compared to Playbook that functions on QNX technology on which the World Wide Web operates. Playbook offers along battery life of 6 hours and Flyer has a battery life of 4 hours.

The price of Playbook and Flyer is expected to be Rs 34,000 and Rs 37,000 approx.

The processor used by Flyer is 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon and Playbook has 1 GHz TI OMAP 4430. The processing abilities of both the tablets facilitate the smooth running of various applications such as multimedia games etc. However, the Snapdragon processor installed in Flyer is much more efficient and powerful than that of Playbook.

Flyer has an internal memory of 32 GB along with 1 GB of RAM. The memory and storage capacity of Flyer can be enhanced by 32 GB through micro SD card. Playbook has varied integrated storage options of 8, 16, 32 and 64 GB along with 1 GB RAM. The Playbook does not have micro SD card slots.

HTC Flyer has 1.3 MP front camera and a 5MP camera at the rear. Playbook takes an extra point here as it has a 5MP rear-facing camera and 3 MP front-facing camera. Playbook, on other hand has a capacitive TFT Touchscreen with the same resolution as that of Flyer. It also has functions such as accelerometer and multi-touch.
