The latest Fly Mobile CG588 marks the entry of Tata Tele in dual SIM market (GSM+CDMA). This indicates growing popularity of dual SIM mobiles in low price category. Tata Teleservices and Fly Mobile have launched a new dual SIM handset CG588. Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL) the mobile services provider said that it has partnered with Meridian Group a UK-based company to launch a QWERT phone.


Fly Mobile CG588 is set at price Rs 4,795 in India. The Meridian Group is all set to sell handsets under the Fly Mobile brand in India. It is a dual SIM phone which supports both GSM and CDMA services. We have always seen dual SIM phone providing GSM+GSM services but this would be the first time when the CDMA and GSM will come together.


The new Fly mobile CG588 is equipped with a 5.8-cm screen color TFT display screen, 1.3 mega pixel camera and memory expandable up to 4GB. The CG588 comes with QWERTY keypad with five-way scroll; it has embedded social connectivity, service on-the-fly access to social networking sites and video player with recording capabilities. An app is also embedded which helps users remain connected on multiple social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter at a speed of 153 Kbps. 300 hours of stand-by time with 1500mAH battery type is promised with 8hours of talk-time on CDMA and GSM networks.


Additional features of CG 588 Fly mobile like an MP3 audio player, FM radio, 3.5-mm universal audio jack is also provided in the system of the phone. TTSL President (CDMA Operations) Sunil Batra said, "The device is an affordable solution for those who want to stay connected to the Internet on their mobile phones, while having the convenience and dependability of a dual-SIM CDMA-GSM handset,"


WAP & Bluetooth are supported by the phone with a CDMA USB modem, through which Fly mobile CG588 can consistently be connected to PC for Internet browsing. TTSL said that it will provide 1 GB free data usage; offers worth Rs 1,500 will be given on the first recharge of Rs 104 and free 250 SMSs.
