Fiat India launches Punto in India with double sales prediction in 2010
Auto major Fiat India is all set to hit back again with an expected sales volume of 50,000 units in the year 2010 as against 24,000 units last year. President and CEO of Fiat India, Rajeev Kapoor unveiled that Fait India is predicting a double fold increase in the sales of Fiat cars in India at the launch of its latest two models of its small car segment – Grande Punto, the Punto Fire Dynamic and Punto Emotion.
Fiat car Punto Fire Dynamic will be at price Rs. 4.57 lac and Punto Fire Emotion at price Rs. 4.87 lac (ex-showroom price). India sees a growth in the number of customers for the hatchback segment and Fiat definitely wants to tap this opportunity and expect to sell 50,000 units by December this year. India has seen a 50% growth last year in the hatchback segment.
The Italian motor maker, Fiat has reportedly made a 78.38 % leap in the total sales as 2,335 units in February this year. The company aims to explore the hatchback segment and lead the battle by introducing 1.2 liter Punto Fire Dynamic. The company claims to have made 60% of car sales in the hatchback segment and has shared 5.5% of the total market share till now.
Talking about Fiat car Punto Fire Dynamics, Kapoor said that it has front power windows, fire prevention system with tilt steering and a service reminder in its entry level 1.2 Active variant. Apart from these 1.2 Dynamic variant will come with rear power windows and central locking system.
Fiat Punto car is available in 8 electrifying colors namely Bossa Nova White, Exotica Red, Minimal Grey, Hip Hop Black, Medium Grey, Electric Blue and 2 new premium colors: Fox Trot Azure and Tuscan Wine offering a wide range of vibrant colors for its customers to choose from.
Fiat car Grande Punto is placed in B+ hatchback segment facing fierce competition with models like Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai i10 and i20 nonetheless Punto has emerged as Fiat’s hottest selling cars.
