App World 2.0 also includes the BlackBerry ID function which sets a user-specific identification for App World purchases. This process is needed for credit card payments. It allows the users to move apps from one BlackBerry to another Black berry without any payment.

The desktop version of BlackBerry App World makes the correct usage of ID function for more hassle free syncing between a user's account and devices.
