Audi R8 GT storms in at Worthersee Tour with limited 333 units
German car manufacturer Audi has introduced the limited production version of its Audi R8 GT sports car and the exclusive series is limited to 333 units only. Audi will present R8 GT to the general public for the first time at Worthersee Tour in Austria.
The new R8 GT is much lighter and more powerful making it the fastest car yet by the company. The vehicle has reduced its weight by roughly 100 kilograms and it now weighs 1,525kg that results in acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (62m/h) in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h. The car has an EU combined fuel economy of 20.6mpg.
At the heart of Audi R8 GT is a 5.2 L V 10 engine that has been increased to 560 hp (421KW) that delivers a power –to-weight ratio of 362 bhp per ton. The R8 GT now comes with polycarbonate rear windows with thinner glass wind shield and many of its aluminum body panels are replaced with carbon fiber. Each unit of this limited production Audi R8 GT comes with a badge with its production number on the shift lever knob and the badges are all over the car delivering each unit its unique identity.
Audi R8 GT comes with standard LED headlights that use emitting diodes for all functions. The 19 inch wheels feature an exclusive 5 twin spoke Y design in a titanium look finish. The R8 GT handles R tronic sequential manual transmission. The car is capable of changing its six gears much faster within a tenth of a second at a high-load and engine speed.
As mentioned earlier, Audi will present R8 GT at Worthersee Tour in Austria. The 29th Worthersee Tour that starts from May 12 and will end on May 15, 2010 in Reifnitz, 9Carinthia), Austria has a 3,000 square meter Audi Stand where Audi R8 GT will be showcased together with 19 Audi vehicle including Audi A 1.
The company will be presenting the vehicles daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm to offer an opportunity to its fans all throughout Europe to get a close personal look at the beauties bearing the four-ring logo. The vehicle at the stand’s entrance will be a mesmerizing Audi R 8 GT in Orange color, the Samoa Orange Metallic.
The Audi R8 GT is priced at $256,000 and in Germany it is 193,000 pounds. The pricing for US are yet to come. Audi offers R8 GT in a choice of four vibrant body colors namely; Samoa Orange Metallic, Suzuka Gray Metallic, Ice Silver Metallic and Phantom Black Pearl Effect.
