Apple iPhone 4 problem: How to tackle it, a solution!

Within hours of the iPhone 4 reaching its customers, the complaints of the device flew in from various customers, unsatisfied with the handset. The Apple iPhone 4 since its launch at the WWDC in early June, has been the craze of the month, with people talking about the innovative features of the device, and appreciating its compact looks and stylish design.

The problem which was identified in the iPhone 4 was the dropping of signal to very low on touching the left rim of the iPhone 4, which could actually mean disconnecting of calls or the losing of connectivity. While holding the phone with the left hand and making a call, the call would most probably get disconnected due to this problem.

The Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, had introduced the rims of the iPhone 4 as a new antenna technology, which would actually help the iPhone 4 get a stronger connectivity and thus help in features such as the GSM, UMTS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS.

Even for the safety of the rims, the buyer needs to get the Bumpers by paying an additional sum of $29. According to Apple, a case avoids skin-to-iPhone contact at the lower-left -- the score or gap in the steel band -- which can modify the cellular antenna's capability to receive and send signals at its designed frequencies.  Jobs simply responded - "Just avoid holding it in that way", reported CNET.

Antenna engineer Spencer Webb has dubbed his preferred grip the "Vulcan iPhone pinch," an allusion to the Vulcan nerve pinch used by Mr. Spock in the original Star Trek TV series from the 1960s. This iPhone 4 grip has been called the “Death Grip” and this grip does minimize the contact of the hand of the user with that of the steel band encircling the iPhone 4 edge which contains the antenna.
