Airtel, Aircel to bring iPhone 4 in coming months, price yet to be revealed

iPhone 4 will finally come to India courtesy Bharti Airtel and Aircel, country’s leading telecom companies. Bharti Airtel and Aircel today announced in separate statements that they would launch the latest iPhone model, the iPhone 4 in India in coming months. But the two service providers are yet to utter anything regarding the price and the release date of the Apple iPhone 4.

The most innovative phone by the California based technology giant Apple, the iPhone 4 was released in the US first and then in four other countries in June last year with a starting price of $199. Since then the ardent Indian iPhone fans have been waiting for the company to release the same in India.

Apple has a history of releasing its products in the country at the closing stages and according to tech gurus the iPhone 4 will make its appearance in the country when Apple is rumored to gear up to launch the new generation iPhone 5 in the US most likely in June or July this year. Apple did not comment anything on the issue.

Airtel has made a similar statement last year about the launch of the iPhone 4 in the country but nothing came out of it. Last June Vodafone Essar has also said that it would launch the iPhone 4 in India but no release dates were announced. Both Airtel and Aircel have already rolled out 3G services in select parts of the country and with the coming of iPhone 4, the 3G spectrum is expected to get a boost in the country that offers high-speed data transfer capabilities.

iPhone 4, the latest iPhone by Apple is sleeker and improved version than its predecessor. The phone has a 3.5-inch Retina display with the resolution of 640 x 960 pixel, highest ever offered by any smartphone. The phone operates on Apple’s iOS 4 and features a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash and a VGA camera for video calls. The other features of the iPhone 4 include multitasking, iBooks, Wi-Fi, HDMI, Bluetooth, 3G and a long battery life.
